Sevilla FC sign an agreement with FC Bengaluru United

La Liga club Sevilla FC have finalised a partnership agreement with FC Bengaluru United and Nimida Sports business group as part of the Spanish football club’s expansion plans to grow its brand internationally. The objective of the agreement is to reinforce Sevilla FC’s presence in the Indian market, keeping in line with the club’s global strategy as well as strengthen its presence in one of the fastest-growing markets in the world. 

Sevilla FC aim to participate in technological innovation, development and implementation projects addressing the sport industry and, simultaneously increase its footprint in India.

Mumbai Indians rank as IPL’s most valuable brand for 2020

The Mumbai Indians registered the highest brand value of the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) eight franchises in 2020, according to a new study by brand valuation agency Brand Finance. The analysis noted that the winners of last year’s event were the only IPL team to register growth during the Twenty20 cricket tournament’s Covid-hit 13th edition as their brand value climbed 7.1 per cent to US$70.3 million. 

JSW Sports has signed an exclusive talent management contract with Rishabh Pant

After his heroics in Australia, Rishabh Pant becomes the first cricketer to join the talent management roster of the $13-billion JSW Group’s sports arm, which currently manages commercial interests of Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik and wrestling star Bajrang Punia, among others.

The multi-year association between the two parties will see JSW Sports manage the athlete’s image positioning and all his commercial engagements, including brand endorsements and appearances, social media monetisation and business deals.

Rajasthan Royals appoint Mark Fordham as their Group CEO

Former IMG and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) executive Mike Fordham has been appointed chief executive of Indian Premier League cricket team Rajasthan Royals. Fordham has in excess of 16 years’ of experience working with leading sports organisations and was a key part of the IMG team that developed the Indian Premier League with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the country’s governing body.

IMG and Epic Games bring immersive football experience to Fortnite 

The IMG agency has worked with Epic Games to enable 23 football clubs to appear in the publisher’s popular Fortnite title. Acting as the publisher’s licensing representative, the agency has agreed deals with clubs from the A-League, Bundesliga, Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, J1 League, La Liga, MLS, Premier League, Primeira Liga, Scottish Premiership and Serie A to enable fans to represent these teams in the game. Players will be able to choose from 10 different variants of ‘Kickoff Set’ outfits which can be swapped to the colours of any of the 23 participating clubs, free of charge.
